Novel about child soldiers

After watching Blood diamond, I remembered a great novel I read last year: it’s by a Nigerian-American novelist, Uzodinma Iweala (whose mother, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, happens to be the managing director of the World Bank…), and it’s called Beasts of No Nation.

It’s a fictionary tale from the perspective of a child soldier in an unnamed country, and should make a great read. There are one or two copies in Frost if anyone’s interested in reading it as a supplement to the movie.  🙂
